EXAM PROCESS

EXAMINATION DISCLOSURE
  • EXAM FEE: The exam fee is for a single attempt. Each time a candidate fails and must retest, they must pay the testing fee for the exam part they are retaking. If you fail both the Knowledge and Skills Exam, you submit the entire fee for the Exam.
  • NONREFUNDABLE EXAM FEE: The Exam fee is nonrefundable once it is submitted.
  • NO SHOW POLICY: Candidates that make a NO SHOW for the scheduled Exam shall forfeit their test fee and MUST apply for a new test date and pay the testing fee in full.
  • LATE/TARDY APPEARANCE ON EXAM DAY: If you appear late for your Exam, you will not be allowed to take your Exam, and you will forfeit your exam fee. To test in the future, you must reschedule and pay the exam fee in full. You must arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled Exam.
  • CHALLENGING EXAM RESULTS: Candidates have the right to file a dispute within seventy two (72) hours after receiving their exam results in their portal. To file a dispute, the Candidate must submit the dispute under the Result Dispute tab. You must pay $35.00 to file a dispute. If your claim is validated, your filing dispute fee will be refunded.
RESCHEDULING EXAM
  • RESCHEDULING FEE: A candidate shall be charged a rescheduling fee of $50.00 for each rescheduling their Exam in less than 72 Hours of the scheduled testing time.
  • No Reschedule Fee if you submit your Exam Rescheduling more than seventy two (72) hours before your Exam start time.
  • To avoid the Exam rescheduling fee or to forfeit your exam fee, you must upload documentation substantiating your reasons for rescheduling into your portal under Rescheduling Docs. Acceptable documentation includes:
    • Verifiable Health Care Provider or Doctor’s note excusing you from testing due to illness or being the primary caregiver of a sick family member.
    • Court record indicating your requirement to appear in court after you had scheduled your Exam.
    • Police or Jail records indicating you were arrested or incarcerated.
    • Police records such as traffic tickets or warnings indicate you were stopped on your way to Testing Site.
    • Jury Duty summons after you had scheduled your Exam.
    • Military Deployment orders after you had scheduled your Exam.
    • Serious vehicle Accident on a testing date where you were involved. You must provide a police report, or insurance claim, and photos.
    • Record of Death of your child, parent, stepparent, sibling, or grandparent. (if providing an obituary, it should indicate your relationship with the deceased).
    • Evidence of being impacted by a natural disaster such as floods, tornados, fire, or any act of God.
Application & Registration

To complete your application, you must create an account, complete the Testing Application online and submit all the required documents and Exam Fees. Once you have completed these steps, you will schedule your Exam and receive a confirmation email.Click HERE.

Before the Exam

Before taking your Certification Exam, you must complete training if required or have a Letter of Exception approving you for testing from the State permitting without going through the formal training. Also, ensure you have reviewed the Candidate Handbook for Exam Blueprint, policies and procedures regarding your specific Exam. It is highly recommended to take free Practice questions to become familiar with the Exam layout. Free Practice Exam can be accessed by clicking HERE.

Exam Day
  • You must appear for your Exam appointment at least Thirty (30) minutes before your scheduled exam time to allow time for inspection and clearance.
  • To be allowed to take your Exam on your testing date, you must bring the following documents:
    • Booking Confirmation Letter.
    • Original Training Verification Form issued by your school or Approved Training Exception Application Letter issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Health (Nurse Aide Registry.)
    • Original Completion Certificate issued by your school.
    • Photo ID issued by State or Federal government. Acceptable Photo ID must be unexpired and includes the following: Driver’s License, Passport, State ID, Greencard, Passport Card, Military ID, or Work Permit.
    • Original Social Security Card or a Letter of Replacement: If the original Social Security Card is unavailable, you must present a letter from Social Security Administration indicating your Social Security Number.
  • If you fail to bring the required documents, you will not be allowed to take your Exam. Therefore, you will forfeit your exam fee.
During Exam
  • Wear comfortable clothing.
  • Cellphones, taping gadgets, video cameras, recording devices, calculators, computers, and all other electronic devices are prohibited in the exam room.
  • Smartwatches are prohibited in the exam room.
  • You are disallowed to bring other people, including children, to your exam room.
  • Students can only bring their Skills Actor into their Skills Room when the Examiner calls them.
  • You cannot bring pets to your exam room.
  • Weapons, including guns and all types of knives, are prohibited.
After the Exam

Official results are ONLY available through your Somanoc account within 24-48 hours after completing your Exam. However, after completing your Knowledge Exam, you can immediately log in to your Somanoc account and click on myExam Results to view your Results for the Knowledge Exam. Once the Examiner is done grading your Skills Exam, the results are updated on your myExam Results. For any exam dispute, file a dispute under the Exam Results Dispute tab in your Somanoc account. You may also call Somanoc Testing Services or contact the Testing Site where you took your Exam.

Once your results are processed, Somanoc Testing Services will deliver them to the State Registry for the recording of your Certification.
